Day 20: Self Isolation at home Saturday 5 April 2020

Today I went for a run after I woke up. It rained last night but now a bit windy and sunny.
A lot of people have been out running. Jason and I decided to run around our streets before lunch.
I ended up doing over 6km and it was an ok run as I there were some hilly streets near St Marks Road.
I also managed to go for  a walk with Joaquin and Zalia in the afternoon. Just around the block and it was 20 min only but enough to get them out of the house.

Jason made some mushy peas. We will have later on.

We ended up having a pasta salad with boiled eggs, tuna, mayo and peas for lunch. This is easy and a hit with everyone. Joaquin said if we are having a sit down lunch what are we going to do for dinner. But lately we have always been eating lunch together as we have no where else to go.

Late afternoon Jason started getting ready his gear for brew day on Sunday. He measures hops and barley.

For dinner I made butter chicken curry from a jar. I added potatoes, carrot, onion, garlic and ginger as well as butter and cream. I made a little side dish of yoghurt and cucumber with garlic.

This is how it turned out. It was delicious and comforting during this whole period of not knowing what is really going to happen with the world.  How a small virus is hurting so many, turning the world upside down and making us realise what is important is family and loved ones, health, yummy food and looking after each other.
Tomorrow is daylight savings and we gain an hour and it will be more light in the morning hours.
