Long weekend

Sunday
We are spending weekend in the country, at J's parents place.
It is pretty cold and the fire has been running non stop, but there is limited wood here so am feeling the cold.

I have a rotten cold, but have started a 12 week winter challenge to get fitter and try to lose some weight. I do feel fit though, I think all the running I have done has worked on me, and I feel I can get fitter.

I got my haircut two weeks ago and love how it looks.

Saturday: I went to my exercise class at Centennial Park in Sydney. I have a bad cold but still managed to do well in the class and feel fit. It is hard running up hill though.
Got home, had a shower and made a yummy breakfast. I was able to throw together, some scrambled eggs, fetta cheese, avocado and some chile sauce. YUMMMY

We then packed and headed north.
We left at 10.30am, stopped in Tuggeraah Westfield for lunch. Jas and I always have fresh salad and cheese sandwiches when we stop for lunch. Z had oporto chicken strips and chips, Joaquin a happy meal which is just a burger, no onion or cheese and chips.
We finally arrived at J's parents place at 4pm and it was so nice and cozy with the fire on.
Joaquin was spoilt again and opened more presents, a dinosaur tshirt, lego pjs, socks, a cook aviator jacket with wool,  a lego caravan and car, an interactive map, and some 5 hot wheel cars.

Joaquin is now 5 years old

Here Joaquin is 4 years old, nearly 5.

But today Joaquin is  5 years old! He is all grown up. I can not believe it but really it is the best thing, he is so sweet, he is a charmer, a bit of sensitive soul and very intelligent with a great memory for everything.

Here i took a photo on the 8th June just before he woke up.

Here is his photo just after waking up.

He opened his presents, --> a lot of lego and a jumper from Zara, and a playmobil jeep and rhino.
Jas made him pancakes
He went to preschool, and played with his friends and had cupcakes at preschool made by the teachers there.
I picked him up before 3pm.
We walked home.
I made him a chocolate cake, and some blondes.
His friends came over, We had cake, blew out the candle and he played with his friends T and J.
When they left Jas went to buy some fish for dinner.
He had his favourite dinner, baked salmon fillets, and home made chips.
We had a carrot, chile and feta salad. Very yummy.

We played with lego.

cousins came to visit

We had a great weekend.
The country cousins came to visit.
On Saturday we went to the Powerhouse Museum to see the Lego exhibit. It was a small exhibit only on this weekend. The lines were enormous and it was raining outside.
I arrived late as I had gone at 6.45am to Centennial Park for my first class for my 12 week winter challenge. I got a lift with a friend and she dropped me of at home at 9am and everyone had left by then.
I made myself a yummy breakfast and had a shower and found it so strange being at home, alone.
I made my way to Powerhouse and it was raining so much but thankfully I caught the tram to Paddy's market from Central Station and managed to stay dry.
After the museum we walked to China town and had some lunch. The kids had fun being in the city and admiring the buildings, the cars, the escalators, the people. We managed to sneak a quick shopping trip to Paddy's market and the kids bought some cheap toys (I bought Joaquin a toy train for $5).
Later we caught the monorail back to Centerpoint and walked to the bus near Hyde Park. On the way home we stopped at the Royal Hotel in Randwick for a beer and wine. Joaquin was exhausted and slept while we were there. When we left it was dinner time. We walked home in the dark, thankfully the rain had eased. We got in our jammies and ordered home delivered pizza for the kids for dinner, we had thai and Jas's dad and brother had a steak and some chips. We drank wine and stayed warm. It was a nice day.
On Sunday the kids played and Joaquin was a bit tired, and cried. I took photos of him crying and thought he was so cute. He had fun playing with his cousins. We played "Shop" with the wiggles shop items and fake money, we had a hairdresser in the shop and Sophie was the hairdresser doing Z's hair and Joaquin's hair.
Everyone left after lunch.
Jas took the kids to the shops and bought a chook for dinner.
He made a lovely roast chook, roast veggies and some gravy. It was really delicious and so comforting.
The weekend was great1
