Two little black puppies

We have two black puppies.
One has a name, Jackie blackie, the other is called Escapita II, or Negrush, or Puppy. No real name yet.
They are 2 months old, mother's a golden retriever, father is a black dog from the chacra. May have. Black lab!  They were born 11th July 2013. When we went to pick up my mother was originally to get Joaquin and Zalia just one puppy. I liked the bigger one, she had a white chest and white paws. But I saw the other smaller one, her sister the little runt, the last one left. So I said I want both!  We got them for free. They were officially weaned and were a month and bit old! They are growing fast, eating a lot, quite we'll behaved. Play together, growl a bit and have a lot of area to Run in. They sleep inside, wee and  poo everywhere. They are out now most of the days it is warmer. They loved it when it snowed a few weeks ago! Bondi has adapted well to her new housemates, she puts down the law, her paw. They respect her!
They have been wormed, parasites and given two shots for parvovirus, they need two more shots and can go for walks.
Zalia has the bigger one, the nameless one, Joaquin has taken ownership of the smaller Jackie blackie with yellow collar!

Skiing in Patagonia with a three year old

Spring is here, not officially. Argentina does not celebrate spring till 21st September where there is a big celebration. Kids celebrate at school, and university kids celebrate with picnics.
Flowers are starting to come through, the pink peach plum blossom trees on the main drag in Esquel are in flower, gorgeous pink soft flowers, our willows have brand new green leaflets, but there is still a lot of snow on the mountains.
Speaking of snow, we all went skiing On the weekend. Joaquin went to ski school Saturday and Sunday even though we had two late night both nights!
We saw guanaco on the road on the way up to La Hoya!
Joaquin said they have the face of a kangaroo!

Zalia who is three years old, skied for the first time. We hired skis and boots for her and payed approximately 50 pesos or about $8 and we did not have to pay  a lift pass for her as she is under 6 years old, just insurance for $10 pesos.

I tell you it is blooming hard work teaching a three year old to ski, I had to carry her everywhere in the snow, walking through the snow in my heavy ski boots is hard. Then take her up the beginners ski rope lift. It really is an exercise. Se did not want to go to ski class or school with the other little kids. We saw her preschool friend who is also 3 skiing for the first time on Saturday too.

It snowed both Saturday and Sunday but it was kinda nice. We spent time in the confiteria or cafe, had hot chocolate, ate pre bought sandwiches de miga for lunch and by Sunday 4.30 pm Zalia was on her own skiing without our help. Not down a steep slope but skiing never the less! I also lost my voice!

Parque Nacional Los Alerces and drinking mate with a three year old

So my brother, Seb the astronomer or astrophysists is visiting from Cordoba, with his girlfriend. We decided to go on Saturday to the Parque, we packed a picnic. My dad cooked beef for sandwiches, my mum made bread. There was chocolate and biscuits and mate for desert.
It was beautiful. We saw a condor, that was my first time seeing such a majestic bird!
There it is above us in the car!
We went to Arrayanes. The water in the river was so blue so high so much water!

I saw a lot of hare droppings in the campsite, where we stopped for our picnic!
Seba played the didgeridoo

Zalia took photos of the scenery.

I took photos of Zalia and the scenery!
